The Student Work and Service Program (SWASP) Paid Employment Component is designed to assist individuals who plan to attend or return to a post-secondary institution.
Post-secondary students
Employers receive $4.00 per hour towards the student’s salary for a minimum of 5 weeks to a maximum of 14 weeks.
In addition to salary, students receive a $50.00 per week tuition voucher for every week worked under the program. This voucher is provided to students by the Department of Human Resources, Labour and Employment.
These positions will not result in the displacement of existing employees, or employees who are on lay-off, recall or absent because of work stoppage or labour/management dispute.
Applications may be obtained from any office of the Department of Human Resources, Labour & Employment. Applications must originate from employers; however, students may use the Student Work and Service Program application in their job search.

Students who normally are undecided with their career paths and who, through work experiences and interaction with agencies, could benefit in choosing a career path.
This program is administered through the Community Youth Networks. Students receive a stipend of $105 per week and a tuition voucher of $1,400 for post-secondary education.
Students are provided with a tuition credit or $1,400 for an 8 week placement in addition to a $105 per week stipend for incidental expenses.
